Outlets near propane tanks.

Hey guys im so happy you are all here i rarely use this but it is very useful and I'm very appreciative!! Customer wants to run under ground to two separate location outlets by two separate location propane tanks (one per). Its residential. In ohio Where can i find requirements if any on the installation in the code book or would this be a city thing???
 
Start with Article 500. Pick a year. Keep reading until you’ve hit 518. I included 517 because while you’re in the hospital, after ignoring the previous articles, you will have a better understanding of that system.

Yes, it pertains to your residential area and it is not just a city thing. Ask any lawyer.
 
Hmm, propane is heavier than air, so if it leaks it will collect in low lying areas, like basements, yet there is no prohibition on regular wiring methods in basements with propane appliances. Outdoors the propane will just flow along the ground from a leak source.

Yes, everytime the propane tank gets filled some escapes. Is that enough to cause the HAJ to consider it a 500 series issue? Have to ask them.

I agree, most likely it is not an issue, but read up on it anyway.

-Regulator vent termination to source of ignition-5 feet
