Outside Lighting

Greetings,
Quick question.... I appreciate all input.
I have someone who wants some outside lighting added to the backyard and front Patio....

Where is the best Place to start and what steps follow?:?

After talking with the op he assures me he is working with a licensed man.

Then he needs to do whatever the licensed man tells him to do and ask him the questions. That is if he is working with the licensed man, if he is hiring him he just needs to let the man do the work.

Come to us when he sees something that doesn't seem right and the licensed man doesn't provide a clear reason as to why, but tell us exactly what is going on.

Just putting in lights in the back yard is pretty vague. Are they electric lights powered from the premesis wiring? That is the first big question.
