LOL, I am computer savvy but I am fighting the smart phones. It's my political protest.... Seriously I hate the way they are being used where people never look up from them and talk to each other.... That's another thread

A friend of mine's mother and sister sit on the couch beside each other watching a movie and they text back and forth so they can talk without disrupting anyone else watching the movie.

I'm with Dennis. I call them Stupidphones. They are not smart and they only make people less smart.

Consider the following and it may make you think not much has changed.

Just another way to look at it. :)

Valid point.

Valid point.

Thanks but honestly it was a point I read online and it changed my view point a bit. Like Dennis I was / am at times, bothered by people with their faces planted in their phones but I guess the only thing that has changed is the tool used.

Yeh but those pics were probably during the depression etc... People looking for jobs, WWII [perhaps, etc.. You didn't really see that in our lifetime. But I see your point. Things change...

IIRC the code refers to the tub or shower area, with no specific reference to the tub, tub deck, shower pan, doors or curtains.
To me there is no question that the free standing outdoor shower is covered, just about where the boundary is.

Generally would 406.(8)(C) prohibit it ?
You mean 406.9(C), right?
2014 NEC 406.9(C) Bathtub and Shower Space. Receptacles shall not be installed within or directly over a bathtub or shower stall.
In Iwire's picture, we see an outdoor shower that has no bathtub, nor does it have an identifiable "shower stall". Some here are saying that without a bathtub or shower stall, 406.9(C) has nothing to apply to, therefore, the only rule left pertains to wet location outdoors.
