Does anyone know of any available forms for calculating overhead costs? I have searched the forums but have not been able to find any past posts dealing with overhead cost calculators.

I understand how to calculate overhead costs but was wondering if there is a form available to aid in the calculation.

Thanks.

Hi Marc. Thanks for the link. It's a good calculator. Are you aware of any others?

Thanks again.

Adding machine? You're showing your age. I actually prefer an abacus.

The only reason I asked if you were aware of any others, the one in the link does not account for all direct job costs. I want to calculate what percentage my overhead is in relation to my total costs. The link is for calculating a per hour overhead cost.

Thanks Doug. I'll check it out.

I was just revisiting Mike's estimating book and he suggests that if you are just starting out in business, and need to calculate your overhead for an estimate, that you should use the lesser of $13 per hour or 40% of the prime cost (If 40% of prime is used, do not include labor burden).

What's your opinion of this method?
