Overhead conduit support to machine

I’m looking for some general advice on this, I’m still parsing the NEC to understand if it provides any requirements.

I have an industrial building with a drop ceiling and a tall roof meaning the effort required to suspend something from the ceiling is significant.

The project is to wire a new CNC milling machine. The space/access requirements of the machine require that the electrical inlet for the cabinet be about 12 feet from the wall where the 2” EMT will be mounted. (Places the machine about 36” from the wall, but the power entry is on the far side of the machine).

I have considered mounting a column, 12 feet from the wall, topping with unistrut to support the conduit running from the top of the column to the wall (double/back to back unistrut.) This is the simplest approach but I haven’t seen it done before.

I have searched for commercially available solutions but haven’t found any.

What methods have you seen when a machine doesn’t have overhead support nearby, and the need to bring electrical to that machine?

Agree with hal, really you can just do whatever you want. Code requires the conduit be supported but doesn't discuss the construction of the support. Is there a place on the machine you can affix something to? Use strut or even a piece of lumber to make a "bridge" from the wall to the machine?
