Overload relays with a motor...

Where using overload relays with a motor; they

a) Shall be in the same raceway
b) Are permitted in the same raceway
c) Shall be run in seperate raceways
d) Shall be of the same color

This question has appeared 3x for me and I haven't found the verbatim answer. Please help. Exact code location would be GREAT!! Thanks, sparky723

The only compliant choice is "d" :grin:

All the other choices are non-compliant. The Article 100 definition of Raceway states...

"...designed expressly for holding wires, cables, or busbars, with additional functions as permitted in this Code."​

I cannot find anywhere in the Code where permission is given to have overload protection (other than wire, cable or busbar :grin: ) in a raceway.
