You two guys caused me to venture into house and fetch a book..
250.148 (D) " any fitting"Is it likely to become energized??
No different then a metal lock nut.
Inspector here does not make us bond it, maybe he just never paid attention.
Agree on the 6x dimension. 2 inch entry would need minimum of a 12 inch length to opposite wall.
Also that metal cable clamp needs to be bonded somehow.
"Where splices" is the start of the first paragraph and refers to the requirement on distance between the raceway entry and the opposite wall.314.28(A)(2)- “Where splices…………..”?
The language I quoted very clearly says the 6x between conduits does not apply to spliced conductors....as a spliced conductor is two conductors, not one.314.28(A)(2)- “Where splices…………..”?
Respectfully, definitely not clear enough to me.The language I quoted very clearly says the 6x between conduits does not apply to spliced conductors....as a spliced conductor is two conductors, not one.
My apologies, looked again and believe i see where you are coming from. Box will probably still required to be bigger than 12”? Help me understand where you’re coming from with this. Thanks.Respectfully, definitely not clear enough to me.

“The distance between raceway entries enclosing the same conductor”. IMO 314.16 dictates that a splice creates separate conductors.314.28(A)(2)- “Where splices…………..”?
