I know I have read somewhere that the terminology used inside the NEC are defined by the definitions in the Oxford dictionary. Am I remembering this correctly? Or, is it a different dictionary that is the "official" dictionary of the NEC?

Quoted from 2014 Handbook. Art. 100

"Commonly defined general terms include those terms defined in
general English language dictionaries
and terms that are not used
in a unique or restricted manner in the NEC. Commonly defined
technical terms such as volt (abbreviated V) and ampere (abbreviated
A) are found in the Authoritative Dictionary of IEEE Standards
Terms."
