Just got a mobile home with an old 200 amp federal pacific panel box. Everything I've read about them says to replace it. I decided to replace it not only cause of the brand, but it seems some of the wiring is messed up (not getting power to certain outlets or appliances) so will be rewiring just about everything.

Being such a small house (maybe 600 sq ft), I don't feel I need such a big box. My question is, can I purchase a 125 amp panel box and still run the 200 amp service to it? If so, would a 200 amp main breaker fit in it? I've tried to search for an answer but can't find one.

Thanks in advance

I suggest you contact a qualified electrician.
