panel clearance per NEC

Merry Christmas

Thought per code, for this size of swbd, we need either double clearance in front of swbd or one door from each end of it? The issue is second door cannot be added neither double clearance is met. The room is tight.
How wide is the air handler in front of the switchboard? As long as the free area at the side of the swbd front is bigger than 4 feet (at the side of the door opening), you might be able to haggle with the AHJ in your area. The purpose of setting working clearance rules is for workers to be able to extricate themselves from the room should untoward events happen.

Met AHJ today, he recommends to comply with unobstructed egress path exception per NEC, a single door is allowed. The issue solves. Thanks all.
Congrats on your progress.

Unless the AHJ placed a permit in your hand, you are NOT home yet.
AHJ is not bound to an informal verbal statement.
Start a plan for permit submittal, existing conditions and new layout showing fit of new equipment.
I would recommend 1/2" scale with every dimension highlighted for both existing and new.
Get your company's logo in the titleblock to make it look good and not generic.

Submit for permit. Nothing ordered until that permit is in hand.
