Panel door locks...

Locking the door appears not to be legal but is it unsafe? If I throw the breakers off inside a cabinet,confirm that they are de-energized and then lock the cabinet with a lock that only I have a key for, I feel safe. The equipment is just as locked out as if the locks were on a breaker handle.

As far as I know panel door look keys are almost generic...keys from the same brand will work over a large number of years.

I was locking these doors with my own lock-out locks.Handles had hasps to hold a lock.:smile:

I believe that Square D has only ever had one "key" design except for special orders.
