I recently looked at the plans for the renovation of a 2 bedroom apartment in a two family house. The designer wants a new panel installed for all of the apartment circuits with a feeder to the existing panel in the basement. The location of this panel is to be within the bedroom adjacent to a window (very small apt. with no hallway area). IMO it should go behind the door but there is an issue with existing ductwork so it's not an option. My question is does anyone see a problem with the intended location in a corner next to the window? My concern is that when someone moves in the panel may end up behind a bed or a piece of furniture. From a code perspective, should I really be concerned?

From a code perspective, the location would be fine providing proper clearance. No matter how hard we try, we can't idiot proof.

Yeah my thoughts too. Clearance won't be an issue when the room is empty and may or may not be an issue when the place is full of furniture.
