panel location

Here is the situation, Upgrading service and existing panel cover is touching water pipe coming from water meter, this is a little utility room, and to the right of the panel is the gas main/meter . The question I have and cannot find an answer to is , is there a requirement to be a certain distance from water main and gas main. I am pretty sure I can get 30 plus inches side to side and 3 feet front to back, but just doesnt seem right to go in between them, any help would be great thanks.

As long as you comply with 110.26 you should not have any problem.

May I presume that you are citing a gas utility requirement, and not an NEC article?

Most likely. The gas co in my area requires 3' clearance to any electrical equipment.

I am not sure if it was in nec or mechanical code but thinking it was 3 feet from regulator. However since this is in a room i would think regulator is outside.
