Panels in bathroom

Does anyone know right off what was the first code cycle to forbid panels (over current protection) in residential bathrooms ?

The reason I ask is that I have seen a few lately and some people seem to think they should be grandfathered.. I'm surprised that home inspectors would not notice this. Doesn't matter to me but I am curious as to when it was legal.

I don't have my old books in front of me but I believe that it was in the early 90's. I don't see it the 1987 NEC.

1993 code cycle

(e) Not located in bathrooms. In dwelling units and guest rooms of hotels and motels, branch-circuit overcurrent devices shall not be located in bathrooms as defined in Section 210-8.

And as additional somewhat random info:

1981 code cycle

(d) Not in Vicinity of Easily Ignitible Material. Overcurrent devices shall not be located in the vicinity of easily ignitible material such as in clothes closets.

Thanks fellows. I guess the one in question could be grandfathered because it was built in the late 70's. Panel may have been changed but the service is original.
