Panic Alarm/Pull cords - Code Source?

I have looked but can't find the various code requirements for the "panic alarms" required in bath rooms and bedrooms, typically for the infirm. I refer to the pull cords that illuminate a light outside the apartment door and visible from the corridor, and sometimes alarm at the office, etc..

Anybody have the references??

Are you referring to a 'nurse call' system?

A lot of times States will have an additional Code for Health Care Facilities.

Kind of, but it is in an apartment complex. Certain units are reserved for handicapped, hard of hearing, etc. We have to put the pull cord in the bath room and in the bedroom.

I'm trying to get to the actual code that specifies the details.
