It's not explicit, but I would say the bus bar has to have an area that is not smaller than the required awg or kcmil.



I don't see a problem myself, but yes it is not explicit and some of us like to read between the lines when it favors something we want:)

Well, thinking about it logically, I don't think you would find a busbar that is smaller than the largest required GEC size, so it shouldn't be an issue.

So the inspectors stretch their amendments to cover other raceways even though they have only addressed EMT.

Pick your battles. The two instances that it happened the effort to "fix" was lesser than the time (delay) it would have taken to dispute. Also, they weren't inspectors I was familiar with.
