pasting over competitor's resi panel stickers

Why are you quipping over a dollar or two for a magnetic sticker? When you permanently apply a sticker on top of someone else's you inherit problems. when issues come up, they see your sticker and assume you did all the work and you're the first one they point fingers to.

1) After I do my millionth service call that will be 1-2 million dollars wasted.

2) Magnetic stickers are business card sized and I would like to be able to use slightly bigger stickers.

3) It's true the HO might assume I own the problem. That's a good opportunity to say (while on-site) "No, this pre-dates the work I did but I'll give you a 10% labor discount on fixing it since I'm already here."

4)"Quipping" means "making a witty remark". I do this frequently, but not in this case. I believe you were going for "Quibbling" meaning "argue or raise objections about a trivial matter" although if I thought it trivial, I wouldn't have posted it. (Sorry for the lesson. I can't help myself.)
 
I see nothing wrong with putting a sticker on a panel. It's generated more business for my company.:thumbsup:
 
Maybe you should leave a competitor's sticker on a FPE, Zinsco, etc. panel, even draw around it with a yellow paint marker to "highlight" it:)
 
I personally think stickers with only your business info is tacky. Find a way to blend it in with something else. Example, we will often replace or update panel schedules that also have our company info on them. You are giving them something in return for advertising your business. I, imho, think it looks horrible to see a bunch of stickers plastered on the outside of a panel. Even more so on a residence.

Not everyone uses stickers around here, but I appreciate those who do. Most of the time, those who are willing to 'sign' their work have done a pretty good job.
 
Make up some cheap stickers from your own printer with competition information on them and place them at all installations you wouldn't want your sticker pasted on if you feel it endorses the quality of the installation(whether you are responsible for any of it or not):)
