Hi there, per NEC Art. 517 a Patient Bed Location is defined as; "The location of an inpatient sleeping bed; or the bed or procedure table used in a critical patient care area."
Well, suppose I have a General Care Area as defined per Art 517 (definition of "Patient Care Area").
Does any body know why General Care Areas Art. 517.18(A) refers to Patient Bed Location, if the definition for "Patient Bed Location" applies only to Critical Care areas only??
Thanks ahead for any comments
regards:smile:

Can't an inpatient sleeping bed be in a general care area?
Thanks for your response. I don't know about your question, but the issue is why Art. 517.18 "General Care Areas" refers to "Patient Bed Locations" if by definition a "Patient Bed Location" seems to apply only to "Critical Patient Carea Areas" Art. 517.19?? I am so confused, please advise guys!! thanks:confused:
