I did a little "Google" time and found this:

On that particular model this is a warning that GFCI was required.
I would suggest you check the manufacturer on line or gibe them a call.
I'd bet on a GFCI requirement.

Good question.
Don't think so, because the tub would be in a bathroom and it wouldn't matter if the receptacle was more than 6' away, it would have to be GFCI protected.

Yes. Didn't know how or if they differed from fixed or permanent ones.

What I am driving at is how it is insane to be making up code to justify how one's personal thoughts need caressing.


I think it is pretty simple.
Follow the code, do not get personally involved and move on to the next job...it really is not hard to do. Things happen that we may not like, but we all seem to get over it.
