Any idea what codes could or would be violated by permanently installing a metering device in the box that consists of:
1. A device that snaps on the wire from every breaker
2. A wire from that device to a meter box (4 conductor all <12v with 600V insulation)
3. A meter box mounted inside or outside of the box that collects the signals from all of the branch circuit meters for analysis
4. A cat5 (insulation rated 600V) cable then leaving the box to go to other network equipment (switch/router) that is outside of the box
Is there a violation in mounting a circuit board within the box? If it is in the box would it need an enclosure to protect it? Or would the issues be more UL related with this kind of installation.
Thanks for the help...
