Permit Expediter

As mentioned by gadfly56, large cities like NYC almost make it mandatory to have an expediter. They even have a special registration for a NYC expediter, where they can go to the Building Dept, where otherwise, you need to be licensed (Contractor, Engineer or Arch). The paperwork process is complicated (possibly on purpose) to be sure that you are part of the boys club to get through in any reasonable amount of time.
I'm guessing that many large cities are similar.

Have you ever heard of an expediter wanting contractor's Ein #, as requested in Msg 1 of post #9?

Dear sweet, sweet, child, you have never dealt with New York City. In fact, in NYC, you almost HAVE to be an expediter in order to submit permits. Expediters will charge you between $2,000 and $8,000 depending on how large the project is and how many trades are involved. You can try to do it yourself, but as they say, the process is the punishment.
And they wonder why there is a tendency for so many smaller projects go unpermitted even by legitimate contractors doing work that otherwise would pass inspections.
