800.50(B) only applies to the conductors described in 800.50(A) 'running from the last outdoor support to the primary protector'

Once past the protector 800.50(B) is a moot point.

It sounds so much nicer when you say it. :)

In defense of all who think that there should be a separation of church and state, I mean phone lines and line voltage cable. it doesn't take much effort to keep the 2 separate and if you run them through the some holes in framing all you need to do is pull a little extra phone/coax cable so it drops down a few inches in between studs, this will break any induction that may or may not occur.

From the '02 code
800-52A(2) Other Applications. Communications wires and cables shall be separated at least 50 mm (2 in.) from conductors of any electric light, power, Class 1, non?power-limited fire alarm, or medium power network-powered broadband communications circuits.
And there are exceptions - but often people look for this 2" separation....

Not sure what your saying, maybe we are saying the same thing. :)

The code allows mixing with cables, not with conductors. The code does not care about the interference, the code only cares we don't energize a data cable with line voltage.

Personally I try to keep them apart.

yep believe we are saying the same thing..

we can separate the words but the philosophy hangs around for years..until you complete rebuild the structure..applies for both..
