IMO no. If you read the entire section it says (in my words) 'low volt' cables or conductors can not be installed with 'hi volt' conductors.

If both systems are in cables then IMO they can be in the raceway together.

I used to work for a company that made airplane terminals, they ran two-wire in 4" raceway along side with control wiring. Though the wiring for the control panels never raised a stink in the phone lines, I always questioned it. Was I wrong????

Article 800.133 of the 2008 NEC basically gives you the spacing and your answer. Hope this helps...




800.133 Installation of Communications Wires, Cables,
and Equipment. Communications wires and cables from
the protector to the equipment or, where no protector is
required, communications wires and cables attached to the
outside or inside of the building shall comply with
800.133(A) through (C).

(A) Separation from Other Conductors.
(1) In Raceways, Cable Trays, Boxes, and Cables.
(a) Other Power-Limited Circuits. Communications
cables shall be permitted in the same raceway, cable tray, or
enclosure with cables of any of the following:
(1) Class 2 and Class 3 remote-control, signaling, and
power-limited circuits in compliance with Article 725
(2) Power-limited fire alarm systems in compliance with
Article 760
(3) Nonconductive and conductive optical fiber cables in
compliance with Article 770
(4) Community antenna television and radio distribution
systems in compliance with Article 820
(5) Low-power network-powered broadband communications
circuits in compliance with Article 830
 
I believe it is a code violation for the various reasons sighted above however when the the folks who run underground cable to my meter bases dig a ditch, they lay the phone cable right in with the phase conductors!!Makes me think that electrical noise is not as big a deal as it once was considered to be.
 
It's been a while so I might not be right but here goes. If you can find an LV cable with the same insulation values, mainly voltage then you're ok. And I agree about HV and LV not affecting one another if the shielding is installed properly. Any takers an that one?
