I agree but I've never seen one.The ring & drywall will probably flush up better with an 1-3/8" ring if they come in that size.
Catalog Number - Gang - Box Size - Drywall Thickness
Do you guys use adjustable?I agree but I've never seen one.
We have but for the most part we do not. They are more expensive but IMO they're worth the costDo you guys use adjustable?
They make extenders for round boxes too. Arlington makes a nice one that should work for just about any fan box too.I’ve got a job right now that the owner said they were using 3/4” boards as ceiling and wall cover…….now the carpenters are putting up 2” thick boards! Device boxes won’t be that big of a problem, extension inserts, but fan and lighting boxes are going to be a major problem.

Probably special order, never seen any at a supply house or big box store. I’ve used them as deck box extensions on high rises, but those I think would be too tall, and they were metal, so I would have to bond them somehow. They make extenders for round boxes too. Both my suppliers have them in stock. You can use the fixture bracket to bond the extension if you use a metal one. The arlington readydave linked is what I'd use honestly. If your box is set out for 0.75 then the 2 inches should work with the 1.5 extension.Probably special order, never seen any at a supply house or big box store.
