On a plastic single gang remodel box. It drilling a 1/2 inch hole in this breaking the listing of the box? Have talked to the Carlon rep and he could not find where it is ok to do this but he also could not find where not ok to do this. Thanks for your comments

It could by not using the provided entry holes with the so called "clamps". Personally, I would do it in a heartbeat should I need to. May I ask why you need to drill a hole and not use the provided ones?

Keep 314.3 in mind if you intend to attach a metal raceway or metal armor cable to the plastic box unless you use a bond bushing.
I see zero issue with non-metallic raceway.

Do note 'Boxes' (metal or plastic) in general as of the 2020 NEC are not required to be listed.
314 is your guide to their proper use and construction.
Your AHJ may require listing for them to be approved.
Many states do by adoption of the NEC.
That is except for 314.27(B) and (C) which does require floor boxes and fan boxes to be listed.

You could 3D print all the plastic boxes or stamp and weld all the metal boxes you want according to the construction specifications outlined in 314 part III,
as long as they are approved (as defined in 100).
You could even cast your own fiberglass hand hole.

That's the nice thing about NEC articles containing 'Construction Specifications'
