Plastic sheet covers for labelling the panel

Your method is good. But consider blue painter's tape, as a longer lasting option that does not leave residue or fall off over time.
The sleeve is held on with double faced tape the same stuff used to hold on phenolic labels. I've seen these phenolic panel labels still in place after 20 years.

Clear plastic paper sleeve held onto the door with two strips of 3M VHB double sided tape at the top & bottom. That sleeve won't fall off. And the VHB tape wont leave any residue if you need to remove it later on for some reason. Just make sure you place it square the first time. It may not feel sticky to the touch, but that stuff sticks good to pretty much any surface. Alternatively: Velcro strips the same way on top and bottom of the sleeve.
