Hey Phlis I have been useing the grey ones you hate for years in both florida and nassau county ny you can legally put them in thru the inside or the outside. I dont use channel locks I stick the lock in and then smack it with the electricans hammer my ever faithfull KLIENS. According to there instructions and all the inspectors in coral springs and cities south to the border of broward county it is legal to go both ways.
