Well, the bigger issue is the moldy grout. :D

But what I did notice is there's no rust stains under either the devices or the heater. Surely with that much moisture around that much NEMA-1 rated stuff, rusty water is sure to run down the wall and leave a trail.
.

Obviously if this guy new what he was doing he would have installed a heater like a Markel with a plastic shroud to prevent rust. Jeeez, what a hack. :D

Laugh it up, but..........
I was working on a school remodel. There were two handicapped bathroom stalls to be converted to showers. On the plans, the two existing GFI outlets were shown and noted as "Replace with new device". Being the concerned electrician I am, I sent in an RFI(request for information) and asked if they wanted "In-use or standard weatherproof covers" for the outlets located in the shower.

It gets worse, the response I received was that all receptacles in wet locations were to have in-use covers installed......

I often wonder if common sense still exists

He may survive if he uses distilled water and stops using soap.

I attended a trade show where a guy was pushing something like WD40. He put 120V electrodes in a fish tank, sprayed his hand with the stuff and put his hand into the tank, without getting shocked.

I came back with a salt shaker and asked if I could put a little salt in his water. NO way, said he.

The OP sure knows how to get things rolling!

I will agree that the photo is real the original text just strikes too many chords to make me think that the poster was the HO. Maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong but I can't imagine anyone with that wrong of an install asking that many wrong questions. I'm thinking an electrician w/ a twisted sense of humor. (i swear it wasn't me)
