Our company is installing cameras in a 4 story building. Can we use either of these 2 products or something else in a pipe chase between floors to install/protect the Cat 5 cables for the cameras?

The allowed cable types are shown in Art 725.61. Going between floors you will need some type of firewall penatration and firestopping. The NECs concern with the cable type is the spread of fire and combustion products in a fire, low voltage or not.

Sorry I misread your post. For going between floors you may be required to use firestopping. Riser guard and plenum guard may not be approved. Firestopping is typically enforced by the building offical

Plenum-Gard or Riser-Gard

Thank you for the information. I know about the firestopping issue between floors. The Carlon web site says "Riser-Gard complies with the UL 2024 Standard for Riser Applications for optical fiber/communications raceways. Riser-Gard is listed to the NEC per Articles 770 and 800 for Riser and General Purpose optical fiber/telecommunication applications. Riser-Gard is suitable for use in vertical runs in a shaft or between floors, as well as areas other than the plenum (cables installed must be of suitable rating for the application). Wouldn't this fit my application?
