I have to build a 800A service for a job. Service will consist of a 800A CT cabinet, but also needs a 100A house meter installed before it. I will be installing a connection box before the CT cabinet I have never built one of these. I have the specs from the blue book but not sure were to purchase the buss bars and insulators from. I dont know of any manufacturers that sell connection boxes. Thanks.

Where have you looked?

Galva-Closure(RJB), Erickson Electric, and AMP are some of the ones used in this area. In general if the company makes CT Metering enclosures they also offer termination boxes.

I looked through all my catologs, Square D, Allen Bradley...etc, and also googled connection box. I will try your reference. Thanks.

I don't know what your POCO requires but Hoffman and Millbank make CT cabinets already setup with the buss, insulators and lugs. The CT's are supplied by the POCO.

Right. If your PoCo is requiring them, your supply house will have them or know exactly where to go to get their hands on them. I'm not sure I'd make one out of pieces and parts when you can buy some really nice one's off the shelf. Your PoCo rules book should have a drawing of the typical box they want with a little list of specs and dimensions -most do.

I assume (bad) you have talked with your POCO.
Locally, in those sitautions, POCO has worked with the EC to feed from the CT box.

I have all the dimmensions, but I dont want to build it, I just want to buy one that meets the spec. I think I have found some from Jims post. I never have had to use a connection box before, I just wasnt sure were to look for one. Thanks for the help.
