does anyone know the best way to wire recp for these new polar foam basement walls? Finish or unfinish basements.

Re: polar foam walls

Out here we see a different product but I think it is the same construction where there is 2" of insulation on the inside and outside of foam blocks with plastic supports spaced to hold the assembly together while holding the rebar. I have seen the use of 1-1/2" deep 4s boxes with 1" plaster rings. Box is shot to the concrete after the pour and a hot knife is used to cut slots for the romex to run between boxes. I have also seen the face mount plastic boxes secured with screws to the plastic supports depending on what the wall covering will be respect to depth.

Re: polar foam walls

I have done the same thing as well. Cut out the foam to install a deep 4 metal box. Power actuate a concrete nail into the concrete. I have seen a couple of ways to cut out the foam. Some guys use a hot knife. I think one brand is windsong or something like that, but I use a router, don't have to mess with the burning foam. Anyhow, one thing to think about is how are you going to secure the NM cable to the back of the cut in the foam. Some guys stuff it back and then just foam it back in place. I feel this is not a listed practice and it has not been tested to see if it will breakdown the insulation over time. What ever you do, 300.4 would apply.
