Pool bond to ham radio tower

Not sure what all the worry is about?

How many pools we have seen with diving towers that in some cases exceed 30'?
How many public pools have lighting poles around the pool for light?

FYI metallic objects do not attract lightning but more like they intercept a lightning stroke on it's way to the Earth just like a plane in the air will take a hit if it just happens to be in the right place at the right time.

The lightning strike was going to happen anyways, its just that a tall metallic object just becomes part of the pathway if the strike is going to hit within the area of the connecting leader.

This was proved via a Tesla coil and a piece of wire to a metal ball, setting up the Tesla coil electrode to arc to the ball then place a short piece of wire in the path way then keeping one end on the ball while moving the other end away from the electrode and the arc will resume its normal path to the ball and ignore the wire.

So that is why the rule is, you don't want to be the tallest thing around, because you just become part of the pathway to earth, not because lightning will be attracted to you.

Sorry, but down here in South Florida, lightning is a big thing. We're not the #1 as far as lightning, but we're damn close.

not too far but Tampa or just South East of it is the lightning capital of the U.S. and before the lightning sat's were in place it was thought that Darwin, Australia was the lightning capital of the world, but now that we have the satellites in place we now know the Congo river area of Africa is the lightning capital with Darwin second and Central to West Florida third.

Another interesting thing was discovered when the lightning sats were put into operation, it was long thought that most lightning strike took place over the oceans, but now we know this is not true as it was confirmed that while we see lightning over oceans it is mostly cloud to cloud as the salt moisture in the air at lower levels tends to short out the build up of charges between the cloud and Earth thus draining the charge, another reason we see very little to no cloud to ground lightning in tropical cyclones or hurricanes.
