I have a 20kw 240v electric water heater being used to heat swimming pool water. Is there any requirement other than being attached to the equipotential bond ?

Found this:

680.9 Electric Pool Water Heaters. All electric pool water
heaters shall have the heating elements subdivided into
loads not exceeding 48 amperes and protected at not over
60 amperes. The ampacity of the branch-circuit conductors
and the rating or setting of overcurrent protective devices
shall not be less than 125 percent of the total nameplaterated
load.

No gfci required so as long as the load is subdvided it should not be an issue That is huge--- we general see 40 amp heat pumps designed for the pools

I did find UL has a listing or pool heaters WBRR ( http://productspec.ul.com/details.php?ccn=WBRR ) with mention of leakage detectors.

Now if one installs a heater other than a UL listed WBRR pool heater.(but still a NRTL product in general ) .. ?? why I have ulcers :)

Thanks. I read too quickly.

but left pondering.. is it a violation to install an electric water heater in a swimming pool circulation system if that heater is not listed for swimming pool use ?

Now i am getting an ulcer.:D

I quickly scanned 680 and did not see where heaters had to be listed. Seems strange to me. IDK.:?
