pool installers wiring pools, and you say it makes for alot of service calls, so in other words alot of unsafe pools in your area

not particularly swimming pool service calls, just crappy work in general, I have no clue as to the safety of the installs of electrical and grounding on pools in this area....

I know the feeling, here in SoCal most of the competition for pool electrical installations come from pool plumbers that are doing the electrical wiring, too. In CA, the holder of a pool contractor's classification can do any part (or all of it) of the swimming pool construction. Most of them couldn't tell you why the need for an equipotential bonding plane or what it is for that matter. They know just enough to connect the conduit, run the wire and hook it to the right terminals. Anything beyond that, and they're lost.
