Anyone have to provide DC fast charging in a residence yet? We have a client who want to do this:

"DC charging on an industrial socket (400 V, 32 A):
less than 0.5 hours."

This is the totality of the information available on Porsche's website. Has anyone been able to find more thorough specifications for this system?

That things has only a 7 kWh battery, DC charging it seems like overkill. Anyway, it appears one needs to buy Porsche's "Porsche Speed Charging Station (DC)" to do this. Insideevs.com says the charging station's MSRP is only 22K, less than 3% of the 845K MSRP of the car itself.

Cheers, Wayne

400V 3Ø is normal in German homes & used for electric ranges, makes sense to me that a quick charger would take advantage of that. Edit, 400/230V is the standard of the 50 Hertz world, not North America.

Call your local Porsche dealership, they will have all the info you need, their customer service is second to none.

a simple solution.... just have him buy a charger, and when it shows up, look at the nameplate data,
and wire accordingly.

it's nice knowing that whatever it costs, the customer can afford it.

if the charger is too much money, he can get the ferrari hybrid instead...

dunno if it even needs a charger. doubt it.
