I am needing to wire up a job site portable building and everything that I have read about the code does not state that I need to run multiconductor cable inside of conduit provided that it is out of harms way. Can anyone clarify?

Granted 550.4(A) will probably be your answer, after you find out what your AHJ will WANT, I personally, have seen 3 wires with electrode system and frame grounded and have seen the 4 wire systems with the disconnect external and sub-panel config. inside. Murphy's Law is if you do it one way, he will want it the other.
