The company I work for has bought some of these portable fuel cubes Fuel Cubes . They poured a concrete pad to set them on and had a contractor install an open-walled carport roof over them to protect them from the weather. They currently have DC pumps with the battery clips on the end of the wiring. They have previously bought some of these and wired them using solar panels and a charge controller to power them up.

When I went to the company website to look for specifications, I noticed that if you wanted to purchase one of these, you first had to pick gasoline or diesel for your fuel. Besides coming with a vent kit, the one thing that stands out to me is that if you choose "diesel", you have the option of an AC or DC motor. However, if you choose "gasoline", you are only able to select one of 2 sizes of AC motor.

I go to look at the tanks we have on site, and the nameplate on the pump motor says it is "Class 1, Div 2," which I think makes perfect sense for a DIESEL-rated setup.

But I am thinking that to be compliant, to use this with gasoline, the AC motor must be "Class 1, Div 1" ... am I thinking correctly, or is there an exception that I might be overlooking?

The supplier that they purchased these from hasn't been much help, he has been trying to contact the manufacturer, but so far I have not had any luck obtaining any information from them.
