I had to use a hickey recently and had someone make the remark,..."You still use those things?" Had another guy ask what in the hell is that???? I just had to put a little smidgen in a pipe. I had to laugh. Am I one of the few to pull one out in a flash? You guys still have a couple of sizes in the trucks?

When we did a lot of PVC coated Rigid in gas stations and plants they were used all the time. I now just do resi. The guy I worked for still does.

Where you talking about the mini rigid pipe bender or the little threaded thing you use to hang fixures?

I've also heard them called "little kicks", not the hickey you are referring to. Do I need to post a picture? They are mainly used for concentrical bends.

Are you serious? You best give me fifteen minutes to do so..........

Hang on unless someone beats me. You owe me a cold one:D

I've hicked before and I will again ...

Frankly take some large cast pipe fitting and cut open out 1/3 of the fitting, grind and fit to suit.
Rotate opening to about 30? +- off bottom of a welded 1" steel pipe about 12 inches long, grips optional.
Makes a great wire bender!

Oh wait, a hickie, add a 4' steel pipe ...

I have them, but I don't carry them. They're handy for fixing stub-ups that the concrete guys got all out of whack. The hickey is really the only way this lightweight can put a box offset in RMC.
