Wiring a post light at residential house . I was going to gfi protect it so I only have to bury the wire 12" down . Can I just run it into the open hole on the bottom of the post light inside the concrete pour that I am going to do ? Any issues thanks ?

Are you talking about the open end of the pole bottom or a hole in the pole near the bottom?

I would think you would need to provide some sort of protection, such as a grommet, to keep the edge of the hole from rubbing through the sheathing/insulation.

GFCI will protect from that also

Hole in the pole

Take a look at 300.5(H). The pole is essentially a raceway and you are going from direct buried UF to it. Bushing required, I'd say.

Uf cannot be embedded in concrete. Sleeve it with a piece of pvc and you're good to go.
