No joke, all his comments so far have been along these lines.

He can't logically back up the claims he makes, so he just rambles some irrelevant idiom and pretends to take the high road. There is no point in trying to add logic to argument at this point. On top of that, he seems to be very stuck in his ways.

Regardless, I'm glad there are those willing to share experience of being in my shoes. Its encouraging, to say the least.

As recently as 20 years ago, the United States was ranked No.1 in high school and college education. Much of the boom in American education during the second half of the 20th century was fueled by the Montgomery G.I. Bill, which provided scholarships and student loans to veteran service personnel returning from World War II. Having matured on the battlefield, thousands of returning troops eagerly seized the opportunity to improve their postwar prospects in the civilian world, leading to a transformation of the American middle class in the 1950s and 1960s.

In 2009, the United States was ranked 18th out of 36 industrialized nations.

I refuted you're claim (#42). Your response was that I was being defensive and that you didn't care enough to refute it:

when someone doesn't agree or care they "don't understand"
it's not that complex

Spout nonsense all you like, you have really only proven how curmudgeonly you can be.

And ultimately this is why we have forums like this- where people can respectfully exchange knowledge and ideas. Nobody knows everything- I am still learning day to day things I could not have imagined 5 years ago.

they do not ask others to dig a ditch for them
and then whine when asked why not dig it yourself
then they have the gall to tell you HOW to dig it! lol
and when done tell you what is wrong with it
roll up you sleeves and dig the dang ditch!!!

I don't think Ranes was asking you to dig a ditch for him. But to each his own. BTW, there are plenty of substation in India (and else where) without breaker failure schemes and bus protection. Zone 2 and Zone 3 takes care of that for you when you get the numbers right

Look up "belittling" and you'll see this as an example.

The thing is, I agree with you about the decline in public education that this country is experiencing. If I said why I think that is, however, it would immediately get the thread shut down.

FWIW, I do not believe that colleges and universities are affected as much other than that they have a lower quality of entering students.

Well this has certainly drifted away from the topic so time to close.
