Power Factor effects of an inverter on the Grid

Doesn't Hawaii currently require POCO-controlled PF in real time?
They have an enormous residential PV capacity installed.

I think that would be through the volt-var function, but there could be more to it that I'm unaware of.

If it's programmable, the most likely place to look isn't the inverter documentation, it's more likely to be the control equipment documentation, and likely then it's buried.

The last inverters I worked on could do leading or lagging power factor to some crazy-insane number, but it had to be requested through the management hardware, it wasn't something that could just be "set" on the inverter through an easy to read data sheet.
