Power limited circuits

I know that power limited circuits are probably most often associated with FA systems, but what exactly are they? What makes them power limited?

The power supply limites the voltage and the current (power).

In other words, even a direct short would not flow enough current to damage any part of the system. This is similar to impedance-protected motors, where the resistance of the motor itself is so high that even stalling it will not make it overheat.
