I had 4 girls myself, I could buy them the little Work Boots when they were small, but they started to really look out of place with the frilly dresses they had to wear. I think I'll be allowed to play more with this one
Mikeames,
Sorry if I diverted the thread here.
Back to the subject, I think the city was probably a scary place to be at a time like that. The sister of a friend was forced to stay overnight in her dark office building because she couldn't get out of the city during daylight. I heard that she's going to find a job on the Island after this. (BTW, her last job was in the WTC and she was there on 9/11)
Was anyone here stuck somewhere during this Outage?

From out west this blackout looks like an expensive, but pointed reminder of the need for proper power-quality, emergency, and ups systems.
Go forth and sell...
I was just in shock on how all of a sudden people point fingers and and act like experts on subjects that they never thought twice about in the past. Maybe people will be more greatful the next time they flip a light sw.
Maybe more UPS, and generator installs will come from this.
yeah but what i heard the source where it started it was in ohio ( sorry i try to get the web address ) but it stated in cnn news that the ohio power line did tripped few time and the central office have alarm but some reason they ingorged or disabled it i didn't read it all yet but that what they say the 345 kv line did trip that why it have ripple effect and shut other lines off too fast for some reason but try to click on cnn news they should have a article there
Personally I think it will ultimately come down to downsizing of the workforce which leads to longer times between preventive maintenence checks and preventive maintenence itself. That's why it always takes so long to get everyone back online after a power loss.
