Power transformer protection

Hi All,

Can anyone advise as to what are the applicable codes and standards that guide/govern power transformer protection.

I have been reviewing the IEEE C57.12.00- 2000 and some others as well as some other documents from IEC etc. however I am looking for definite information or guidelines as to what functions are required for the different transformer categories.

Utility Transformers (as well as other areas exempted by NEC 90.2) are not covered by NEC.
NEC installations for transformers are mainly covered by NEC Art 450 and Art 240.
 
The NEC is only concerned with overcurrent protection, effectively functions 50 and 51. All other protective functions are purely design considerations.
