Powering A/C Units and Telecom Equipment with the same Generator

Hi,

We are currently calculating the capacity of a standby diesel generator to feed a telecom center. However, our customer would also like to include the air conditioning units (2 x 36.000 BTU). Although separate circuits are projected from a secondary panel powered by the generator (during electric outages); would it be acceptable to have inductive load included in this scheme ? Any suggestions ?

Thanks

If the generator is of sufficient capacity and can accommodate the load surges without frequency or voltage sag or surge, and the subtransient reactance permits a stiff enough source, it should be fine.

Just do load calculations.
