Are you repairing for a test? I am assuming that by the title of your post. But to give you some kind of an answer. In the opinion of this apprentice to say that one motor is more common then another would be kind of hard. If you are looking for help with motor circuits then I believe you want a clear understanding of article 430. The process for finding the size of branch circuit conductors is the same for a 230 volt 3 phase 50hp motor as it is for a 208 volt 3 phase 2hp motor. There is a form on this web site that offers test help. Understanding the tables 430.247, 430.248, 430.249, 430.250, 430.251(A), 430.251(B) and how to apply them to article 430 along with the rest of the NEC is the key. If you have a specific math problem post it. Everyone here is willing to help........
