I installed a Recessed Ceiling Light. The Manufacturer Halo Eaton built Silver Metal Mounting Rack with Very Sharp Inner Edges. Wires loop through the center sharp edge.

So when installing or removing a ceiling lightl it may cut/tear, and spark. (it happened to previous customer)

Sometimes ceiling light gets stuck, electrical bundle wires in tight space (pressing against the sharp edges) Many different factors.

1) Do you recommend any solution to prevent wires from cutting/tearing, in ceiling lights?

2) Is it Okay to place Polypropylene Spiral Wrap to Prevent it from tearing? Is Polypropylene spiral safe to withstand high temperature like electrical tape?

Proposed Solution:

I suggest wiring the ceiling half of the orange disconnect before installing the mounting plate, and let it dangle through the hole.

If you really want to fix the hole, get a length of small rubber hose from an auto parts store, slit it, and cover the edge of the metal.

Get yourself one of these while you are at Home Depot getting the lights and debur the the sharp edges with the half round side like they should have done at the Chinese factory.

Myself, I'd find another manufacturer whose products don't have this type of issue. I installed those Halos once, and never again.
