Properly grounding a Satellite dish?

well i always went for the common point of grounds, the phone companies ground meeting up with the supplemental ground rod wire. the water spicket is quick and close sometimes. plastic pipes are too futuristic in some of these homes. when that day comes proper upgrading should be done. cause more then just the satelite dish will need proper grounding.

The problem with connection to the water pipe remote from the point where the pipe enters the building is a future repair with non-metallic fittings between the point where the pipe enters and the point where the grounding conductor is connected. The person making the pipe repair may not be aware of the grounding connection. If the grounding connection is made within 5' of the pipes entrance and repair inside the building does not effect the grounding, and if the repair is near the point of entrance, the grounding connection should be visible and steps can be taken to maintain the electrical path.
