Really, I think we ought to rename that one "Lighting". :D
QUESTION: What is the difference between lighting and luminaires?

ANSWER: We can charge more to install luminaires then light fixtures!;)

IMO the thread NEC should deal with the Q&A of the present code. I understand some jurisdictions are on different revisions of the code but the poster should let the forum know in thier post which revision they are abidding to. The title of this thread is proposals and as stated earlier we are now in the proposal period for 2011 NEC.

Joe

Sounds good to me . Thanks .

How can you tell when you are in a really nice dinning establishment? They call their drinks "beverages" on the menu! And yes they will charge more!

Luminaires illuminate beverages; lights light up drinks.
A spot light lights up a spot...I'm beginning to get a feel for this....;)

What used to be "pool lights" is now "luminaires for specified bodies of water".. Why not "remote panelboard" instead of "subpanel"? Ahhhh, the precision of language....
