Other than de-energizing circuits what precautions can be performed to "preserve" the integrety of wall receptacles from the effects of residential flooding (tape accross connections) or is this a concern? Also after flooding what precautions should residents take before re-energizing wall receptacles?
Trying to get ready for Irma - any tips appreciated.

Here, the power goes out long, LONG before any flooding is even a possibility. If there is no flooding, then the electrical system in the house is as safe as it was (whatever that may be). If the receptacles get flooded, then they should be changed out; I think 90 days was the timeframe mentioned in other topics re: hurricanes.

and good luck. Irma is looking like on hell of a storm. You may not have a house to come back to, nevermind damaged electrical.
